Elders are the spiritual shepherds of the church, entrusted with the responsibility of leading, teaching, and overseeing the congregation according to Scripture. Their primary duties include the ministry of the Word, prayer, guarding sound doctrine, and caring for the souls of God’s people. Elders exercise authority not as lords over the church, but as under-shepherds of Christ, who is the Chief Shepherd and Head of the church. They are called to lead with humility, accountability, and faithfulness, seeking the spiritual good of the congregation and the glory of God in all things.
TEACHING ELDER
REV. J.D. LANGFORD
DEACONS
Deacons are appointed servants of the church who assist the elders by overseeing practical needs and works of mercy within the congregation. Their role is not one of governing or teaching authority, but of service—ensuring that the physical, logistical, and benevolent needs of the church are cared for in an orderly and faithful way. By bearing these responsibilities, deacons help protect the elders’ focus on prayer, the ministry of the Word, and spiritual oversight. Deacons serve in submission to Christ and under the direction of the elders, modeling humility, faithfulness, and love for the body as they labor for the good of the church.
MINISTRY STAFF
Our ministry staff consists of men and women who serve in defined roles to support the life and mission of the church. While these positions are currently volunteer in nature, each staff member is entrusted with real responsibility and serves with prayerful commitment to Christ and His church. All ministry staff operate under the spiritual oversight and authority of the elders, who are charged with shepherding the congregation, guarding doctrine, and directing the overall ministry of the church. In this way, our staff serves to strengthen the work of the elders and to help equip the saints for faithful service.
